So 10 years ago I graduated from High School. Granted, I graduated from Richard Montgomery High School, but I originally went to the good PBHS in Burtonsville, MD with all the kids that I grew up with in Northern Silver Spring. (I left after 10th grade to join the "oso elite" RMHS on the Pike, but was reminded there that I was now a small fish in a bigger pond.)
So last year my best friend of yore and I were talking and she reminded me that our reunion was coming up, whereupon I reminded her that I didn't graduate from the school. "If I don't have a boyfriend that time next year, you will be my date!" I got a call several months ago and a much less chipper Kristina called me and said "I don't have a boyfriend. you are my f*#in date." (artistic blogging exageration lisence used here)
Baltimore, MD INner Harbor. Cruise. I didn't take any photos of the cruise. And only took two photos in all which is really lame. And only about 50 people came, which included spouses. Not extremely exciting as the folks I hung out with, all the guys were at another friend's bachelor party (which I'm sure was a loooooot more fun) But I did catch up with people. Conversations sounded like this:
"I know you! You used to try and throw paper wads down my shirt in French class!" or
"Hey! Didn't you break your arm while jumping down from the loft in my bedroom?" or
"Hmm... I remember you but not your name..." "I'm Heather! I'm now a single mom with 2 kids and I work 2 jobs. Their father gets to see them every other weekend and the bastards not paying child support." "That's nice! Weren't you in my chorus class?"
Several girls were married and divorced already. Married and divorced. I don't even want to go through the first part of that, let alone the second!
Much dancing was done - songs on the DJ play list:
1) The Humpty Dance is your chance to the Hump..ow ow Do me Baby!
2) Several Boys to Men songs
3) Hold on to the nights - Richard Marx
and many other songs that I say I haven't heard in a long time....
Next month will be my 10 year reunion for the school i actually graduated from. so more to come...
Kristina- thanks for letting me come as your date. I know you were a bit disappointed in the turnout (most importantly that fama and barrick were not in attendance) but I had a great time catching up with you and the other girls. And besides, I make great arm candy!
